PrimeTel in cooperation with Reliance Globalcom, has proceeded with the landing of the submarine ‘HAWK’ fibre optics cable system, on Friday the 12/06/2009 in Yeroskipou beach, Paphos.  At the moment, PrimeTel is building the landing station, and the estimated time the cable will be activated is the end of this year.  However, there is a problem with citizens in Yeroskipou.  They are protesting because they think the fiber optics will cause cancern!  It’s a shame that PrimeTel is trying to bring connectivity of the island to the next level, yet some people are standing in their way for no legitimate reason.
